Athletic Therapist

Al BodnarchukAs a massage therapist Al Bodnarchuk has a hand in some of the biggest moments in Canadian sports. He worked with sprinter Donovan Bailey and the Canadian men's 4x100 relay team, both of them gold medallists at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, he worked with figure skaters Shae-Lynn Bourne, Victor Kraatz and Jamie Sale. Other athletes Al has worked are Olympic bobsledder Jaime Cruickshank and Olympic pole vaulter Kelsie Hendry.

Al has been to the Olympics five times, four in summer and one in winter. He has gone to the Pan-Am Games, the Commonwealth Games and the Universiade. He has been a fixture on Canada's team at the world athletics championships since 1987.

Al has also volunteered for the Uof S Huskies football team as a massage therapist for the past 30 years including three Vanier Cup championships. He has also volunteered for the Huskies track and field program including being a therapist on the two U of S women's teams being inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall this year.
